What’s it like to be part of the new wave of women in Engineering? How have things changed in the last thirty years? How can we attract more women into this vital industry? And why aren’t girls encouraged to study Engineering at school?
We address all that and more in our FCDO Services podcast.
Please note: the podcast was recorded shortly before our name change from FCO Services to FCDO Services, but all other content remains relevant.
The podcast, aiming to look at advances and updates in the world of security and technology, was created for International Women’s Day 2020. So, naturally, it was a great time to look at one of the industry’s biggest leaps forward: the move toward gender equality.
It’s an issue that’s close to our hearts at FCDO Services. We’re constantly striving to bring more people of all gender identities into our organisation; particularly across traditionally male-dominated areas like Engineering, Construction and IT. What’s more, once we welcome people into our organisation, we want them to feel welcome and supported too, in everything from diverse networks to a benefits package that supports your lifestyle.
But don’t take it from us. Join second-year apprentice Emma; Tess, a senior manager with a telecoms background; Kirsty, a Structural Engineer; Rebecca, a Senior Operating Manager; and of course, our host Katherine, as they talk about their experiences as part of an inclusive organisation in a changing industry.
